In addition to these rules, it is the policy of the Department of Physics that everyone wishing to use Hydrofluoric acid must first attend the University’s Health and Safety course on Hydrofluoric Acid Awareness. They must also satisfy the Departmental COSHH Adviser that their laboratory facilities are suitable for working with HF.
Workers with hydrofluoric acid must also read the HSE’s leaflet on this topic and follow the guidance given.
